Midwest Auto Group Streamlines Operations by Merging Monmouth Store

2 min read

Kunes Auto & RV Group, a prominent family-owned automotive dealership, has announced the integration of Kunes Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Monmouth with an adjacent Kunes store to enhance operational efficiencies. This move ensures that customers from the Monmouth location can continue to avail themselves of services and parts at any of Kunes’ extensive network of over 40 locations. Furthermore, the consolidation secures the positions of the store’s 16 employees, who will be redeployed to nearby Kunes Auto Group locations in Galesburg, Macomb, Sterling, and the Quad Cities.

“Keeping our employees within the Kunes family is of paramount importance to us,” stated COO Scott Kunes. “Our considerable presence in the region makes this feasible.”

This marks a first in the 28-year history of Kunes Auto Group, which has seen remarkable growth from 15 dealerships in 2019 to more than 40, increasing its workforce by approximately 1,000 individuals. Kunes continues to manage 10 Chrysler outlets across Wisconsin and Illinois. The closure paves the way for further investments in new ventures by the group.

“Equally critical is our commitment to our Monmouth customers, ensuring they feel valued and prioritized,” Kunes added. “Our ethos is that once you’re a Kunes customer, you’re always a Kunes customer. We are eager to extend our hospitality and services to them at any of our locations for their vehicle maintenance needs or inquiries.”

Kunes Auto & RV Group significantly contributes to the local economy. In 2022, the auto group reported revenues exceeding $2 billion, annually donates over $1 million to various charitable causes both locally and globally, employs more than 2,000 individuals, and represents every major domestic automobile brand along with most import brands across four Midwest states.
