Governor Indira Vizcaíno inaugurated the 2025 National Olympic Games in Colima

Colima. On Monday afternoon, the governor of Colima, Indira Vizcaíno Silva, inaugurated the 2025 Conade National Olympiad, which is taking place in the state from May 18 to June 20, with the participation of more than 5,000 people, where athletes will compete in eight sports disciplines: baseball 5, soccer, golf, handball, rugby 7, surfing, indoor volleyball and beach volleyball, which will be held in the municipalities of Colima, Villa de Álvarez and Manzanillo.

In addition to Colima, the participating delegations are Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Coahuila, Durango, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, and Morelos, as well as IPN, IMME, IMSS, INDE, and UNAM.

Representatives from Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán, Zacatecas, and, of course, the host state of Colima will also participate.

In her opening address, Governor Indira Vizcaíno invited the athletes, regardless of the result, to maintain the conviction that simply being here representing their states is a success in itself, that they should feel proud, and that the greatest learning experience is always to surpass oneself.

“For us, this is not only an opportunity to show them that we recognize their sporting talent, but also an opportunity to showcase the greatness and cultural richness of our state,” said the Colima governor.

The director of the Colima Sports Institute (Incode), Alejandro Rodríguez Alvarado, expressed his hope that this National Olympics will be an example of achievement, passion, and unity. “You reflect the dreams we can achieve when we work with our hearts. Make the most of every moment and let the spirit of sportsmanship prevail,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude for Governor Indira Vizcaíno’s efforts to ensure that Colima could host this prestigious national competition and thus witness the highest level of sport in the country.
