The Parker Thundering Herd will put their unbeaten record on the line tonight when they host the Gardendale Rockets in a Class 6A region football game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Parker High School.
Parker (2-0) has looked strong to open the season, averaging 34 points per game with standout performances on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Dylan Reese has led the offense with more than 213 passing yards per game, while running back Chancellor Sparks is adding over 100 yards on the ground each week. The Thundering Herd defense has also been solid, giving up just 24 total points in two games.
Gardendale (0-2) is still searching for its first win after losses to Jasper and James Clemens. The Rockets rely heavily on quarterback Chris Jackson, who leads the team in both passing and rushing. Jackson has accounted for nearly 150 total yards per game, with receiver Amari Thrasher serving as his top target.
