Asahi Kasei Plastics' Tenac-C Z-Series is a low-emission acetal copolymer.
With its eco-friendly features, the Tenac-C Z-Series is used in the seat-adjuster comfort mat in the lumbar support manufactured by Brose Group to improve interior air quality in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. According to the company, the Z-Series' engineered resin exceeded the new VDA 275 performance targets for low VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and provided a natural lubricity, eliminating the need for any traditional grease or lubricants. The use of Tenac-C enabled vehicle weight reduction of 400 g (0.88 lb) per lumbar support mechanism.
