The Ubisense assembly control system (ACS) is based on the company’s ultra-wideband, real-time location system (RTLS) technology.
According to Ubisense, RTLS technology enables automobile manufacturers to track the location of each vehicle and tool within 6 in (152 mm) of accuracy throughout assembly lines that stretch beyond a mile and tie torque to vehicle identification numbers (VINs) with 99.999% accuracy. On a line controlled by the Ubisense ACS, tags on the vehicle are automatically associated to the VIN so that any downstream process can be automated. The Ubisense system uses a sophisticated dual measurement of RF signal characteristics to precisely pinpoint the location of each tag/VIN.
