Hyperform HPR 803 reinforcing additives from Milliken enable processors to make high-performance polypropylene parts with low weight and increased stiffness and temperature resistance.
The fibers have an aspect ratio of around 40:1 and work well with talc; because the material is added at levels typically one-third of those required for talc, parts may be up to 15% lighter. Parts may be produced with a shorter cooling time and thus lower overall cycle time. Aesthetics are also improved because the additive has a whiter natural color than talc, so processors can reduce pigment usage to get the desired color. The additives come as a free-flowing powder and can be incorporated during compounding via a side-feeder.
