High-strength, heat-resistant plastic bantam jack spacers custom-molded by Minnesota Rubber and Plastics offer improved electrical properties and are used in various connecting devices.
Precision molded of polyetherimide (PEI), the spacers feature improved design function and cost efficiency compared to other material formulations including metal parts. The bantam jack spacers have improved hydrolytic and UV stability as well as radiation resistance. PEI is suitable for repeated steam, hot air, and cold chemical sterilization and is inherently flame retardant for usability at continuous temperatures up to 375°F (190°C). To add extra strength to the spacer design, the PEI resin can be reinforced with glass fibers as well as other materials such as carbon. Custom bantam jack spacers may be combined with other plastic and elastomer components to form a completed construction that reduces component assembly time and material usage.
