Rapid control prototyping
August 2010 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
MicroAutoBox II from dSPACE is the next generation of the company’s compact rapid control prototyping platform for in-vehicle use.

Rapid control prototyping Applications include vehicle dynamics, powertrain, body control, and x-by-wire. Delivering more processing power, MicroAutoBox II gives ECU function developers even faster real-time computation of their controller models. This boost to processing power comes from a new processor board equipped with an IBM PowerPC processor running at 900 MHz. In addition, MicroAutoBox II has a new connection for direct connection to the host PC’s ethernet interface. A further interface is for connecting MicroAutoBox II to external devices by standard ethernet technology, which opens up potential uses in a whole series of new application areas such as driver assistance systems. With its compact design and passive cooling, MicroAutoBox II’s mechanical robustness is now even stronger, claims the company. dSPACE has made the boot times faster so that in ECU networks, MicroAutoBox II can perform immediate boot-up like a real ECU.
