Leoni has extended its range of heat resistant cable for use in engine bays.
Its Mocar 125 family of cables can withstand 125°C for 3,000 hours and include a polypropylene thermoplastic insulation material, partially crosslinked polyolefin insulation, and irradiation crosslinked insulation.
Mocar 125 P, has been in use for a while and contains less than 12% halogen. Leoni subsequently developed Mocar G, a thermoplastic insulation that is more resistant to peak temperatures than the P grade.
The latest development, in collaboration with Leoni Studer, is Mocar 125 XE with a halogen-free, irradiation crosslinked compound. This is produced on special irradiation crosslinking lines and possesses very good thermal overload properties and resistance to aggressive media.
