Hard drives ‘toughest yet’

Hard drives for automotive applications, described by Hitachi as fourth-generation, are said to be tough enough for the most extreme driving conditions.



. They are intended for applications such as navigation, digital entertainment, telematics and mobile computing.

Endurastar J4K50 and N4K50 have an upper capacity limit of 50 gigabytes and can survive 3G operation vibration and up to 800G drop shock.
