Clean Diesel Technologies (CDT) has announced positive results including substantial platinum savings through the use the company’s Platinum Plus fuel-borne catalyst (FBC) technology.
Recent tests were conducted on current model year passenger car diesel engines equipped with diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems by a leading European test laboratory on behalf of CDT and its commercial partners. According to CDT, these confirmed that an optimised DPF system using Platinum Plus FBC technology, operated successfully with up to 70% less platinum compared with a conventional system. At current platinum this translated into a potential cost saving of between €240 to €400 per car.
